Why Students Must Recite Quran (Tashih) in Mahad UIN Maliki Malang

            In Maulana Malik Ibrahim Islamic State University , there are many students from multi regions and they have different background school before, some of them from Islamic Boarding School and the other from General High School, this is one reason why this University make ability to their new students to recite Quran or called tashih start from chapter (juz) 1 until chapter 30 (the last juz in Quran). I agree that new students should do tashih, exactly when they still in Mahad. The purpose of this paper is to show the importance of tashih, especially for new students in this university.

           The first reason why new students must do tashih when they are in Mahad  because the basic of this university is Islamic and Ulul Albab , so many activities in Mahad based on Sharia Islam, and Quran become the source of Sharia Islam and if we recite Quran, we will get reward (in Islam called Pahala), so important to recite Quran for Moslem, exactly Moslem students in UIN Maliki Malang.

        Another reason for tashih is purposing to the new students for add their knowledge and understand more about reciting Quran, because not all of new students can recite Quran with better, so in Mahad there are classifications classes for students who recite Quran is better (Class Tafsir/Tartil) and for students who recite Quran still under (Class Asasi). So in Mahad all of students must do tashih whether they are from Islamic Boarding School or not.

       The last reason for importance tashih is one way to learning new students about the importance of manage their time, activity between campus and Mahad can be balance. It will show in the next day after they are out from Mahad and hopefully do their life is same when they are in Mahad, namely stay life based on Sharia Islam.

       You have to realize that tashih is important in Mahad, and when you have out from Mahad you have to recite Quran by yourself continues. Reciting Quran is good thing that we do, many benefits that we can get from reciting Quran and in this life Quran give directions to humans, exactly for Moslem about how to manage time for their life between in the world and after life. So, become good student’s Moslem we have to recite Quran in daily life, and don’t only busy with your activities in the world.
